A graph, not a sequence
Claims, evidence sources and the agents that produced them are first-class nodes. Every reconcile leaves a timestamped snapshot — history you can query, not lines you scroll past.
subject → statement → source
Independent by construction
Sources are external records — databases, logs, warehouses — that the claiming agent does not control. The graph renders what each source says, side by side, without merging them into one account.
It stops before the verdict
Four relationship states describe divergence — including unresolved, which is a legal terminal state. VeraNet performs no adjudication and sets no truth.
claim & evidence agree
claim, no independent evidence
evidence contradicts the claim
not yet determinable — kept as-is
Observation
A fact observed, stated without interpretation. The raw material everything else is built on.
Evidence
Supporting material — commit, log, data, reproducible experiment — that can be independently checked.
Inference
A reasoning step, always labeled as inference. Never promoted to fact without evidence.
Proposal
A recommendation. A suggestion is not a decision — and never becomes one here.
Unknown
Preserved explicitly. Unknown is not a failure state; it is an honest state.
Conflict
A surfaced divergence between sources, claims or outputs. It enters the conflict graph — never gets resolved by fiat.
VeraNet is not a verifier of agents.
It is the evidence conflict resolution layer for agent evidence.
我们呈现冲突。我们从不裁决。
